Hawthorne House KC Wedding: Craig + Hanna

Hawthorne House KC Wedding: Craig + Hanna

I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since capturing Craig and Hanna’s beautiful KC Engagement session! A year flies by! I was so excited to see them again on their wedding day at the beautiful Hawthorne House in Parkville MO! What a perfect day it was! Even though it rained on and off, everything was absolutely perfect! Craig and Hanna are so adorable together and I loved capturing them together and so in love! My 2nd photographer Mike and I had a blast all day with not only the two of them but also their amazing family and friends! Craig and Hanna, thank you SO much for allowing me to capture your beautiful KC wedding and to be your Kansas City Wedding Photographer! It’s been a blessing watching the two of you together and I’m so excited for this exciting time in your lives! ENJOY!!!

“Our wedding day was so fun. It’s truly crazy how long you plan for the big day and then how quickly it goes by! Our family and friends made us feel so loved. At the end of the day, we felt so lucky to not only have each other but to have so much support from those around us. People came from all over the country from California to Washington, D.C. to Seattle, etc. And then we had family from China and Canada. It was incredible to see all of these people from all these backgrounds coming together to celebrate our marriage. Our wedding day was so special, it really was a day full of love and we are so thankful.”

“After we chose our venue, we wanted to go for a simple and classic look. We loved the white reception hall and the giant porch at the hawthorne house so we tried to center a theme around the venue atmosphere. We stuck with neutral colors: white, cream, blush, champagne, natural greens. We loved how everything turned out! The hours on pinterest and etsy finally paid off, ha! :)”

“I am so glad we did a first look. It was a moment for JUST us. It was a moment that really made “we’re getting married” real. And it was a moment to just be honest with each other with no crowd around. I have never seen Craig cry. He told me once how he cried when his dog passed away but otherwise, no tears. When he turned around and he started crying, I about lost it. And we just stood there with each other, so thankful we found each other in this world.”

“There were tons of funny little things that happened throughout the day. My veil would not stay on…my garter would would not stay on…there were all of these little bugs crawling in the layers of my wedding dress…we snapped the cake knife in half when we tried to cut into our cake. Ah!! But these are some of the memories we will cherish from our wedding day.”

“I was able to incorporate some Chinese culture into the wedding. It was important to me but more significantly, it was a way to honor my parents and grandparents. It was fun to do a dress change! For the last few hours of the wedding, I changed into a red traditional QiPao. We also had little Chinese red bags with Chinese candy inside as party favors.”

“Thank you to all our family members, friends, and vendors for making our wedding day possible. We cannot thank you enough for your support, your love, your excitement, and your celebration. We are so happy to have had you with us on our wedding day!”
