Hilton President Wedding: Jake + Rebecca

HILTON PRESIDENT WEDDDING

WOW! What an amazing wedding day Jake and Rebecca had!!! These two are perfect together! Their beautiful wedding took place at Visitation Church and their reception at the Hilton President. Let me just say that I’ve NEVER seen the Hilton President ballroom set up the way that Jake and Rebecca had it and it was breathtaking! This couple, this dress, the details! AHH! What a fun day it was!!!!  You may remember Jake and Rebecca from their adorable KC Engagement Session that we shot last fall! I couldn’t wait to see these two again and capture their wedding day for them! What a wonderful day it was! We ran into a bit of rain, but thankfully it didn’t stick around all day. 🙂 I had so much fun with these two! Thank you so very much Jake & Rebecca! It was an honor to capture your day for you and I’m so thankful to be your KC Wedding Photographer! ENJOY!

These shoes!!! OMG! LOVE!

Our wedding was a long time in the making. Jacob and I had been together for over seven years and had been thinking about our wedding for a very long time. After all that build up, we could not have been happier. Everything was perfect and any small hiccups we had truly didn’t matter. We were very involved in the planning process and paid close attention to all the details. Seeing them all come together was magical. It was a day filled with celebration and love that we will never forget. “ You two are perfect together!

How amazing is her dress!?!

We did not have a theme for a wedding, we were more concerned with how we wanted our wedding to feel. We wanted our wedding to reflect our lives together and be very personal while at the same time being very inclusive. We would not have made it to this day without all our loved ones and we truly wanted to treat them and show our gratitude. As far as the esthetics of our wedding were concerned, we wanted to have subtle touches of black and gold as a nod to Mizzou, where we met. We also wanted everything to feel very romantic and formal, yet welcoming. It was also important to us to find a way to include our Westie pups, Lena & Fritz. Each of our guests received a Westie white chocolate favor at their seat, from our neighborhood favorite, Annedore’s Fine Chocolates.

One of our very favorite memories from our wedding was when we took a private moment to look at the ballroom before the reception began. When it came time to pick a first dance song, both of us had one in mind, but Jacob said he wanted to dance to Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton because that song always made him think of me-and who can say no to that?! So, I surprised Jake and we shared a private first dance to my song, Everything by Michael Buble. That, along with walking through the tables and seeing our dream wedding finally come to life was the most romantic part of our wedding.

There were so many little moments throughout our wedding that made us laugh, but we really enjoyed seeing everyone dig into their chocolate Westie favors. It definitely wasn’t a knife and fork situation, and the next day we saw lots of instagram posts of our guests gnawing on their favors. #weateFritz

Planning a wedding can be extremely overwhelming and it is very easy to get lost in the details. I would just say to keep the end goal in mind. The wedding is wonderful, but marriage is even better.

CONGRATULATIONS JAKE + REBECCA!!!!
