Longview Mansion Wedding: Tommy + Jamie

Longview Mansion Wedding: Tommy + Jamie

I am SO excited about Tommy & Jamie’s Wedding Day! You may remember this adorable couple’s Lawrence Engagement Session that we took last spring! These two are SO much fun to be around and it’s been so much fun getting to know them and work with the two of them! Their beautiful wedding took place at the amazing Longview Mansion! It did end up raining all day, however Tommy & Jamie made the most out of it and knew that the only thing that mattered was that they were getting married to each other! We still managed to make it outside for some awesome rain shots (thank you for being up for that you two!) and had a wonderful time documenting such a wonderful and very sweet relationship. Thank you so much Tommy and Jamie for choosing Sharaya Mauck Photography to be your KC Wedding Photographer!!! It’s been so much fun working and getting to know the two of you and documenting this beautiful time in your lives! ENJOY!

“While our wedding day was not what I had originally imagined – I can honestly say that it turned out much better that I had ever expected! Leading up to the wedding day looking at the forecasts I was saddened that we weren’t going to be able to have our wedding out in front of the fountain; which was a shame because Longview is so unbelievably gorgeous outside! However, I think the rain on that day made it all the more us! Tommy and I have always loved thunderstorms – we even have dates where we go storm chasing! We always wanted an intimate wedding ceremony, which I think helped create that feeling by moving everyone into the library. There was also something very calming sitting down for dinner in the tent and listening to the rain fall down outside. “ LOVE that Tommy & Jamie included their precious dogs in their day!!!

“I feel like Tommy and I really captured who we are as a couple into our wedding day and we hope that our personalities shined through! Outside of the themes for our wedding we also tried to pull in what makes us unique into other areas. For example, it was super important for us to have our puppies there on the day because we consider ourselves almost like a little family. “

One of my all time favorite photos!!! Jamie, you are STUNNING!!

“We don’t ever want to forget our first look and we are so thankful that we had one first! We both cried when we saw each other for the first time and it was so special having that moment between us!” LOVE these!  You two are adorable!

“One of our themes was from the Pixar movie, “Up!” Tommy and I love the movie and feel like we can relate to the story of Carl and Ellie. Tommy pinned a grape soda badge to his lapel and I had one pinned to my bouquet. Another element from the movie is the idea of going on adventures together, which Tommy and I tried to pull in with our guestbook. I also walked down the aisle to the theme song from the movie, which is called “Married Life.”

If I had to pinpoint one favorite part of our wedding day to just one part I would have to say immediately following the ceremony! Tommy and I walked out as husband and wife and I could barely contain my excitement! We walked outside and had just a few minutes together to share alone. The ceremony seemed almost surreal, so it was really nice to spend a moment together to share and reflect on the importance of what just happened!”

What is some advice you have for other brides?

People have always told us how stressful wedding planning is, but it didn’t really sink in until the last couple of weeks before the wedding when everything had to be done. The advice I would give is not to procrastinate on the little items because you don’t need that type of stress before the big day! That time should be reserved for relaxing and enjoying time with friends and family (especially those coming in from out of town)! Also, if a couple finds themselves with too much to do before the wedding anyway, I would say prioritize the tasks and be okay if they aren’t all completed. Guests aren’t going to know if everything you had envisioned doesn’t make it out on the day of the wedding.

“We also made our cake toppers match Tommy’s love for Mini Coopers and my love for Jeeps “

” We set the theme of our reception to match our first dance as a couple (“Moonlight Serenade”). We tried to pull in the theme by having a paper moon photo booth, lanterns, galaxy donuts, napkins with moons and a sign that said, “and so they danced by the light of the moon!”

“We also decided to take dance lessons and have someone choreograph our first dance. Our hope is that we will be able to dance to it in the future and remember how wonderful our wedding day was!”

What an amazing KC Wedding!!! Congratulations Tommy & Jamie!!!!
